Senior Science Scouts: Ummeesh, Khavishini, Darshwini
Newton Science Show
Qila introduced Newton's three laws of motion through a series of engaging and interactive science activities delivered in the Newton Science Show. The Science Scouts experienced the resistive forces of inertia, the recoil of an action, and a whole lot more other fun and physical experiments.
Spin yourself round and round but the balls stay where they are!
Who's going to make a bigger splash?!
Balloon Powered Car Challenge
Qila then challenged the Science Scouts to design a balloon powered car using everyday materials such as a cereal box, balloons, and straws. The Science Scouts were definitely creative and almost all cars had forward motion! Science Scouts Aiman and Liyana topped the distance and earned themselves an "Investigating Forces and Energy" badge for their successful effort!
The briefing and guide by Qila before design and construction.
Science Scouts focused on building their 'cars', with help from the other Troop Leaders and the Senior Science Scouts.
And off to the tracks we go to see which car travels the furthest!
