Troop 1: Meeting 8

Activities:
- Circle of Energy:
  • This is an energiser activity to foster team cohesiveness and to encourage bonding.

- Johan the Young Scientist:
  • Science Scouts took part in the Johan the Young Scientist challenge hunt. They have to answer 5 Science Puzzles. Questions are hidden around the centre and scouts must look for them and then find the answers on their own.

- Crafty Science Communication!:
  • Scouts are given a selection of recycled materials such as papers, cups, and bottles and they are then asked to go on a centre walk in pairs to: - select a science concept or theme they want to explore, - take notes, - and brainstorm on what they can build using available materials to demonstrate the chosen science concept. This activity culminated with a presentation by the pairs on their science topics using their built demonstration items.

Activities:
- Circle of Energy:
  • This is an energiser activity to foster team cohesiveness and to encourage bonding.

- Treasure Hunt:
  • This is a centre treasure hunt program for groups. Participants are given a clue sheet and they must find the answers by interacting with exhibits in the centre.

- Cartesian Diver:
  • This is a hands-on activity where the scouts build a model of the Cartesian diver using plastic bottles, modelling clay, straw and tape.
